Research Collaborator for Amputation Care Education Study in UK Medical Schools

We are excited to announce the launch of the IMPACT: Insights and Management Perceptions of Amputation Care Training study, a national research collaborative conducted by researchers at Imperial College London in collaboration with PRASSA.

Study Overview:

The IMPACT study aims to explore final-year medical students’ understanding and perceptions of amputation care training, as well as their confidence levels in managing various aspects of amputation care. This study will identify areas for improvement and enhance the preparation of future doctors in dealing with patients with amputations. It also offers medical students a valuable opportunity to engage in significant research on amputation care education.

Study Method:

We are inviting final-year medical students across the UK to participate in a brief, anonymous online survey that will take less than 5 minutes to complete. The survey will cover their experiences with amputation teaching and care, confidence levels, and perceptions of the curriculum.

Research Collaborator Recruitment:

We are looking for 1 research collaborator from each UK medical school. The collaborator can be a medical student from any year, not just the final year. The selected collaborator will manage the dissemination of the survey to their university’s final-year medical students. A detailed role description is available on the application form.

Application Details:

• Application Form: https://forms.gle/qkt5Xp378wvySt4Y8

• Application Deadline: 25th August 2024 23:59.

Benefits for Research Collaborators:

Collaborators who secure 15 or more responses from their medical school will be recognised as citable PubMed co-collaborative authors, receive a certificate of recognition, and gain access to a local dataset for potential presentation of their work.
