Awards for Second Degree Medical Students for 2025/26

Application packs for students reading for a degree in medicine in the UK who do not have access to a Tuition Fee Loan because they already have a degree or equivalent qualification and who are paying fees of not more than £9,250 a year are now available from the Fund’s website.

A limited number of awards is available to students who are currently in –

  • The second or third years of either a five-year or six-year medical course
  • The second or third years of the four-year graduate entry course and are not ordinarily domiciled in England or Wales
  • The fourth year of a five-year course and are not ordinarily domiciled in England, Scotland or Wales
  • The fourth or fifth year of a six-year course and are not ordinarily domiciled in England, Scotland or Wales

Students who have access to the NHS Bursary Scheme or similar fee funding from a statutory body are not eligible to apply.

All applicants must have debts exceeding £25,000, excluding mortgages. The level of funding is up to £3,000 per academic year.
