Registration and abstract submission are now open for The British Society for the History of Medicine (BSHM) Congress at Leeds University on 10-13 September 2025. The Congress is open to all interested in the history of medicine, healthcare and allied sciences.
The BSHM invites abstract submissions on the three congress themes – ‘Herbs, Potions and Magic Bullets’, ‘Disability and Rehabilitation’, and ‘Medical and Healthcare Learning’ – and on miscellaneous topics in the history of medicine, healthcare and allied sciences. The deadline for abstract submissions is 20 May 2025.
Guidance on abstract submission is available on the BSHM website, along with full details of the Congress, including keynote speakers, the preliminary programme, social events and museum visit: https://bshm.org.uk/congress-2025/
Undergraduate and postgraduate students registered on a full-time course at a recognised university are invited to participate at a specially subsidised rate. A limited number of travel grants are available to support UK undergraduates presenting at the Congress. Prizes are awarded for the best oral presentation and best poster by an undergraduate student.
